I look after a handful of small servers for myself and for two people who ask nicely. This site is where I write down the things I would otherwise have to work out twice.

Nothing here is advice for large installations. Most of it assumes one machine, a few gigabytes of RAM, and a strong preference for boring tools that will still be there in five years.
